The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recovered the remains of an 11-year-old boy who drowned at Adenta Aviation in the Greater Accra Region.

The victim, identified as Samuel Awalime, was found after a search and retrieval operation conducted by firefighters from the Adenta Fire Station.

The GNFS said its personnel were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call about the drowning incident and immediately began efforts to locate the missing child.

The operation, which took place on July 13, 2026, was led by DO III Obosu, who supervised the rescue team with support from other emergency responders present at the site.

The Service explained that the agencies involved worked together in a coordinated effort that continued for several hours before the victim was successfully recovered.

After the recovery, Samuel Awalime’s body was handed over to the Adenta Police Division to assist with investigations into the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the drowning have not yet been established, as the police continue their inquiries.
