Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwadaso Constituency, Dr Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah is alleging that Madam Gifty Ohene Konadu engineered his defeat in the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary primaries in 2020.
According to him, prior to the primaries, the former Asante-Akyem South MP (Gifty Ohene Konadu) on numerous times told him right in his face that she was going to make sure the incumbent MP for Kwadaso, Dr Kingsley Nyarko won the seat.
“Wherever I met Gifty Ohene Konadu when I was MP, she uses to tell me; Kingsley will defeat me.” Dr. Nuamah stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, Tuesday.
The former Kwadaso lawmaker said, the woman seemed to be joking in his opinion then, but he indeed lost the seat to Dr Kingsley Nyarko. He believes the woman did not just make those claims but worked towards his defeat.
Dr Nuako’s comments are in relation to the recent brouhaha in the ongoing NPP polling station elections in the Kwadaso constituency.
According to some aggrieved party members, executives of the constituency, led by NPP Chairman, Mr Bonah, Dr Kingsley Nyarko (MP) and Madam Gifty Ohene Konadu have connived to choose their favourite candidates for the positions.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa Radio Tuesday, Assembly Member of Tanoso in the Kwadaso constituency, Mr Karikari unveiled that, the aforementioned executives led by Gifty Ohene Konadu went to only 10 polling stations out of 196 in the constituency and verbally acclaimed all the candidates.
The move he believes was fishy and unconstitutional since 191 polling stations were left behind.
He alleged that, the Kwadso NPP executives might have selected their own people for the positions hence the dirty and unscrupulous move.
Mr. Karikari stated on the show that, members of the party will petition the top hierarchy of the NPP to address the pertaining matters.
