A Nigerian man based abroad has reportedly called off his wedding after uncovering disturbing footage involving his fiancée, bringing months of elaborate preparations to an abrupt and dramatic end just hours before the ceremony.

According to accounts shared by the man, he met a woman during a visit and the relationship quickly grew serious, eventually leading him to commit to marriage. He went on to invest heavily in the relationship, reportedly spending about 6M naira on wedding arrangements and securing accommodation for her as they planned their future together.

Before returning abroad, the man allegedly installed a concealed camera in the home under the guise of a light fixture, saying he wanted reassurance about his partner while he was away. While overseas, he claims he monitored footage that showed his fiancée repeatedly bringing different men into the house over time, alleging that he identified up to six separate encounters.

Despite the discovery, he continued with wedding preparations without confronting her, only to make a last-minute decision that stunned guests and family. On the day of the ceremony, with guests already gathered and the bride preparing for the event, the groom failed to appear. He later revealed through a video call that he had already left the country and would not be proceeding with the marriage.

In a strongly worded reflection shared after the incident, he criticized the situation and urged people to be more careful when choosing partners, saying: “Be sure you truly know who you are marrying and don’t rush into commitment without clarity.”

He further added, in a controversial remark, that people should be honest about their past relationships and avoid misleading partners, comments that have since sparked heated debate online about trust, privacy, and surveillance in modern relationships.
