The Human Rights Committee of Ghana’s Parliament, led by its Chairman, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, participated in the 59th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Hon. Anim, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Kumawu constituency, headed the delegation as part of Ghana’s ongoing efforts to bolster resilience and preparedness for future pandemics.
During the session, the committee held key discussions with representatives of The Global Fund, focusing on the ratification of the Privileges and Immunities Agreement.
The talks are expected to facilitate smoother collaboration and strengthen Ghana’s ability to access global health resources during emergencies.
The Committee’s participation and engagement underscore Ghana’s commitment to reinforcing health and community systems, while also prioritizing human rights in the context of global health security and pandemic preparedness.
