Kwadwo Safo Akofena, son of Kristo Asafo Mission founder Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has publicly expressed regret over the family disagreements that have spilled into the public domain.

The Kristo Asafo Mission leader said the situation has brought unwanted attention to their father and urged Ghanaians to forgive the family as they work towards settling their differences.

Speaking during a Zoom interview, Akofena said he would not single out any member of the family for blame, arguing that everyone involved must accept responsibility for the controversy.

“I want to apologise to Ghanaians for the embarrassment we caused our father and how our issues went public. He doesn’t deserve this. I will not blame anyone for what has happened. We are all at fault, so I seek forgiveness,” he stated.

He revealed that he had also sought forgiveness from members of his church, where he reportedly knelt before a congregation of about 15,000 people and appealed for an end to the disagreements.

“When I went to church yesterday, I knelt in front of almost 15,000 people to apologise. I told the whole church that we should let everything that has happened go. Our father deserves more than this,” he said.

Akofena further described the family conflict as a painful reflection of human imperfection, stressing that prominence or social standing does not make anyone immune to mistakes and disagreements.

“Things like this happen in every family and make us know that we’re humans and we have blood running through our veins. To err is human, no matter how great the person is or the kind of family you come from, you’re still human,” he shared.

His comments come amid heightened public interest in disagreements involving members of the Safo family. Akofena’s appeal suggests that the family now wants to move away from the public confrontation and concentrate on protecting the reputation and legacy of Apostle Kwadwo Safo.

He therefore appealed to the public to show the family forgiveness and give them the space to resolve their differences away from public scrutiny.

“Ghanaians should forgive us,” Akofena pleaded.

The apology could mark an attempt by the family to draw a line under the controversy and restore calm around the legacy of their father.
