Former Assin Central MP and 2028 NPP flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, has sparked controversy with a viral video in which he delivers what many online have labelled “religious rants” directed at former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In the video, Agyapong is seen addressing a group of NPP grassroots supporters, questioning Dr. Bawumia’s return and suitability to lead the New Patriotic Party.
Positioning himself as the preferred choice for the party’s future, Agyapong passionately urged delegates to back his bid in the NPP’s upcoming internal elections.
“If they want power, Ghanaians say it is only Kennedy Agyapong they will vote for.”
“Do you want to remain home for another 4 years or 8 years? Are you ready for that? Let us listen to what the people are saying. Let us listen to what Ghanaians are saying”, he said.
Kennedy Agyapong further exclaimed that “the churches spoke”, purporting Ghanaians are not ready for a non-Christian to lead them.
“In this church we are in, they spoke. I am speaking in parables . The church spoke but we did not listen and we have seen what has happened”, he emphasised.
