Ghana has expressed support for U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s proposed peace plan aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government reaffirmed its “unwavering commitment to global peace, stability, and the principles of international cooperation.”
The statement noted that Ghana welcomes any initiative that promotes dialogue, mutual respect, and an end to hostilities, stressing that such proposals deserve the attention of the international community.
“The proposed framework highlights the need to safeguard civilian lives, restore territorial integrity, and create conditions for lasting reconciliation,” the ministry said.
Ghana added that, as a country with a strong record in peacekeeping and mediation, it stands prepared to support any constructive effort that advances these objectives.
The government further urged all parties involved in the conflict to negotiate in good faith and prioritise the well-being of their citizens over political disagreements.
Ghana reiterated its willingness to work with regional and global partners to promote peace, security, and sustainable development around the world.
