Ghana Water Company Cracks Down on Illegal Connections, Warns of Prosecution for Offenders

The Ghana Water Company’s Greater Accra West Office, in collaboration with National Security operatives, has uncovered illegal water connections being used by some commercial water sellers in Kasoa and has warned that offenders will face prosecution.

During the operation, the team, led by the Greater Accra West Communications Manager, discovered an apartment equipped with underground water tanks allegedly used for illegal water distribution.

Speaking in an interview, the Greater Accra West Regional Communications Manager, Madam Sollace Akomea, expressed deep concern about the rising cases of water theft. She stated that those found culpable will face surcharges and possible prosecution.

She described the level of illegal connections in Kasoa as alarming and urged perpetrators to stop such activities immediately.

Madam Akomea further encouraged the public to report any suspicious behaviour related to water theft or illegal connections to the Ghana Water Company or the police.
