Rev. Ransford Obeng, the esteemed General Overseer of the Cavalry Charismatic Center (CCC) has generously registered one thousand individuals on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
These beneficiaries were residents of the Asokore Mampong Municipality, where the CCC is located.
This act of kindness was a part of Rev. Obeng’s 67th birthday celebration.
It was revealed that he has been celebrating his birthdays with donation exercises for the past seven years but decided to add NHIS registration to his charitable efforts this year.
“I am celebrating my 67th birthday. I decided to add NHIS registration to the blood donation exercise. I have realized that many are not on the NHIS because of money, so I am registering 1,000 children under 18 and the elderly on the NHIS.” He said.
Rev. Obeng further urged the NHIS authority to stop spending all the funds on administration.
“The NHIS is a good policy. So I am urging all Ghanaians to register. The government should reduce administration costs. No one should spend more than 10 per cent of the money we contributed for NHIS on administration; if they spend more than that, it’s wrong, and they must do something about it.” The CCC man advised.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Oyerepa News commended the general overseer of the CCC for the opportunity given to the vulnerable.
“I heard the information that Rev Obeng is registering people on the NHIS free of charge so I came to register my two children. We thank the pastor for this opportunity.”
