A gas cylinder explosion at Adum in Kumasi has left four people in critical condition, sparking panic among residents in the early hours of Wednesday.
The incident occurred in a building near Sagoe Lane, where a loud blast startled the neighbourhood. Eyewitnesses said they rushed to the scene and found four individuals severely injured.
In the chaos, several residents leapt from windows to escape the explosion, sustaining fractured legs and other injuries. One victim reportedly suffered multiple wounds after a cylinder exploded in her room.
The injured have since been taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service has cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the blast.
The explosion has left residents in shock, with many expressing fear over safety in the area.
