Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the national chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Odame over his advice to the police on Professor Frimpong Boaten’s illegal mining (Galamsey) report.
The Attorney General advised that former Environment Minister Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s allegations in his report on illegal mining activities in the country are empty and do not have evidence to prosecute the persons named in it.
The Attorney General therefore asked the police to discharge the persons mentioned in the report except those still under investigation.
In response to the Attorney General’s recent advice on Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s report regarding illegal mining activities, Asiedu Nketia emphasized that this Akufo-Addo-led government is a clearing agent and they are struggling to cover up their corruption.
“I am not surprised by the AG’s advice. All the attempts by this NPP government to prosecute corruption are just eye service. If there is no evidence, it is the police who do the investigation, and the police will take the findings to the Attorney General. Now the AG has ordered them not to look for the evidence, so how would they find it?” he said.
He said that the Akufo-Addo-led government is a clearing agent.
“We said this government is a clearing agent. I believe officials in this government have conspired to commit a crime, and now they are afraid to reveal their secrets. They are blackmailing themselves with evil acts. They are all riding tigers. The NPP’s biggest problem is how to cover up their corruption.” General Mosquito stated.
