General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said, galamsey activities can only be stopped if the President starts the war from his own NPP party.
In an exclusive interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, the General Secretary disclosed that President Akuffo-Addo has failed woefully in the fight against galamsey because his party members are the kingpins of the menace.
“Ghanaians are not interested in you arresting the people involved in galamsey activities.”
“What have been the results of the plenty of arrests made by the President so far? “he asked.
According to the Asiedu Nketia, President Nana Addo has governed this country in total deception and ought to have resigned by now.
Adding that, one of the richest countries in Africa is Dr Congo but as a result of bad governance and mismanagement of the country, their natural resources are now becoming a curse for them.
Meanwhile, he also disclosed that the activities of galamsey apart from destroying our water bodies are gradually setting into our forest reserves and that poses a threat to human life and posterity.
“It is never wrong to mine natural resources in the country but it is wrong when its activities are aimed at destroying lives and our environment” he added.
