GAF teams up with sister security agencies for joint show-of-force in Accra
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), together with several national security agencies, will stage a major joint Show of Force exercise in Accra on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
In a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations and signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, GAF announced that the exercise will feature participation from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Ghana Immigration Service.
The operation is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. from Black Star Square, move through key streets in the capital, and return to the same point.
According to GAF, the exercise is designed to boost operational readiness, discourage criminal activity, and reassure citizens of the security agencies’ preparedness especially with the festive season approaching. It also seeks to deepen collaboration among security institutions and reinforce broader national security efforts.
The Armed Forces further advised residents to expect an increased security presence and possible temporary traffic disruptions in parts of Greater Accra but urged the public to go about their normal activities without fear.
