Government, through the Interior Ministry, has declared Friday, December 6, 2024, as a statutory holiday to mark the annual Farmers’ Day celebration.
A statement, signed by the sector Minister, Henry Quartey, has urged the public to observe the day as such throughout the country.
This year’s celebration, which will be the 40th edition was themed: “Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security.”
The Farmers Day celebration was commemorated on Friday, November 8, 2024.
The date was moved from the traditional first Friday of December, which is December 6, due to the upcoming general elections.
December 6 therefore remains the statutory holiday despite the early celebration.
