Former Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim, Gifty Klenam, has made a notable political shift by leaving the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to join the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Hon. Klenam served two terms as MP for the Lower West Akim constituency under the NPP, first elected in the 2008 general elections and securing re-election in 2012.
During her tenure, she was a member of the Minority in Parliament, actively representing her constituency.
Beyond her parliamentary role, Klenam has held key leadership positions in Ghanaian politics and governance.
She previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and also chaired the Ghana Export Promotion Authority.
Her decision to switch allegiance marks a significant development in the country’s political landscape.
