Former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, has emerged victorious in the Ashanti Regional Council of State election, securing a decisive 49 votes.
The election, held on Monday, February 17, 2025, saw Mr. Obimpeh leading by a significant margin.
His closest contender, Nkansah Boadu Nana Ayeboafo, received 35 votes, while Daniel Anarfi Yamoah managed just 1 vote.
None of the other candidates secured any votes.
Out of the expected 86 votes, 85 valid ballots were cast, with no rejected votes.
His victory follows the suspension of the initial election last week due to chaos that disrupted the process.
