Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Adwoa Safo injured in shooting incident

The Madina Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.

According to preliminary police reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, while the former MP was visiting her late father’s residence in Kwabenya.

Police indicated that Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot wound to her left ear during the incident. She subsequently reported the matter to the Kwabenya Police and presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which had visible bullet damage.

Authorities have issued her a Medical Report Form, and she is currently receiving treatment.

The vehicle has been retained by investigators for forensic examination as part of efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify all individuals involved.

Police say investigations are ongoing and have assured the public that further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
