The District Chief Executive of Kumawu, Samuel Addai Agyekum, has criticized former President John Mahama’s leadership style, stating that it is outdated and cannot address the current economic challenges. Agyekum suggests that Mahama would be better suited to starting a charity foundation rather than attempting to lead the country again as President.
Agyekum compared the competence of John Mahama and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in their ability to lead the country after the 2024 elections. Dr Bawumia, who is the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, recently unveiled a comprehensive plan to boost the country’s economic growth and development if allowed to become President.
Agyekum believes that Dr Bawumia has a superior vision for creating a favorable environment for businesses to thrive, increasing productivity, generating employment opportunities, and driving economic prosperity. He emphasizes the importance of a digitalized business environment, which would enhance flexibility, productivity, and the generation of internal funds.
Furthermore, Agyekum argues that John Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economic policy is not a viable solution to the current economic challenges, as similar policies already exist.
“Too many COVID-19 economic woes, you need a dynamic, innovative, and bold leader to address challenges, not Mahama. He should start a charity foundation like other former presidents and forget about the presidency,” he said.
