Some irate residents of Kokoso in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region have expressed their displeasure over the poor roads within the community.
The residents claim the bad roads are affecting their daily activities.
Speaking to Oyerepa TV in an exclusive interview, the Kokoso residents said the deplorable roads are posing a threat to their lives.
They explained that armed robbers have taken over the community due to the bad state of the roads.
Again, drivers mostly refuse to ply the roads mostly at night because of the fear of being attacked by robbers.
Because of our bad roads, drivers have stopped coming here; armed robbers have also taken over this community.” The Kokoso residents stated with anger.
The Kokoso residents lamented, that they have severally called on the Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Mr Asenso Boakye to fix the bad roads but has not responded.
“We’ve complained about these poor roads from time immemorial, yet, they remain unfixed.
We have called on our MP, Asenso Boakye but nothing has been done.” They said.
The residents however threatened not to allow any politician to campaign in the community if the roads are not maintained. They will not vote in 2024 should the roads remain deplorable.
“We won’t vote if Akufo-Addo and the Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah don’t fix our bad roads.
