Five people were injured—one critically—following a road crash at Odumasi on the three-lane stretch in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality.
The incident occurred when a Chevrolet Spark taxi, registered GE 9167-23, attempted an overtaking maneuver and collided with two trucks: a MAN diesel truck (GR 5774) and a flatbed truck (GW 5462-24).
Eyewitnesses reported that the Chevrolet Spark was travelling from Konongo toward Nobewam, while the flatbed truck was approaching from the opposite direction, en route from Kumasi to Konongo.
The most seriously injured victim was transported to the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital and is receiving further medical attention.
The remaining four individuals sustained minor injuries and were treated and discharged from the Hope Care Specialist Hospital at Ohene Nkwanta.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, which has raised renewed concerns over reckless overtaking on that stretch of road.
