Swift intervention by the Buduburam Fire Service and Weija Gbawe Fire Service helped prevent a disaster at Gomoa Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region after a gas station storage tank began spilling.
The incident occurred when a metal object accidentally hit the storage tank during servicing, causing a serious gas leak.
Thanks to the prompt action of fire personnel from Buduburam and Weija, the situation was brought under control, preventing a potential explosion that could have caused a major disaster in the vicinity.

In an interview, DO3 Benjamin Nii Osabu, 2IC of Buduburam Fire Station, explained that the workers at the facility were servicing the sprinkler system when a valve designed to prevent gas leakage broke, leading to the spillage.
Meanwhile, Hassan Hamidu, Director of NADMO for Gomoa East District, has appealed to the government to provide logistical support to the Gomoa East Fire Service to enhance their operations. He noted that fire tenders at Buduburam have broken down, making it difficult for the station to respond effectively to fire incidents in the district.
