A fire outbreak that occurred at Sefwi Helehele in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region has razed down a Cocoa shed, destroying many items beyond recognition.
Items gutted by the fire include 60 bags of cocoa beans, 3 Cocoa weighing scales, 4 motorbikes, 5 spraying machines, 150 pieces of wood, 100 bags of charcoal, 4 bicycles, 4 solar panels, a chainsaw machine, 3 bags of maize, 4 multi-TV dishes, television sets, a generator, and other properties amounting to millions of Ghana Cedis.
The owner of the cocoa shed, Festus Ahenkorah, explained to the media how the fire razed down his building and the items.
The Juaboso District Fire Officer, DO3 Miah Emmanuel, said his outfit had received a distress call from the area about the incident, and personnel rushed to the scene to quench the fire, but it was unfortunate that a lot of harm had already been done.
DO3 Miah however, advised the residents in the area to be very careful about how to use fire this dried season.
