Renowned Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as LilWin, is currently collaborating with popular Nigerian actors Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, and Victor Osuagwu (Awilo Sharp Sharp) on his upcoming movie, “A Country Called Ghana.”
Despite facing criticism on social media for choosing Nigerian actors as the main characters in his new film, Lilwin stands by his decision, believing it will elevate the quality of his highly-anticipated project.
During an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on Friday, March 22, 2024, Lilwin explained that while he values working with Ghanaian actors, he recognizes the importance of diversifying his cast to achieve global success, hence his choice to include Nigerian talent in his latest film.
“For our movie industry to thrive, it is essential that we collaborate with foreign talent. As actors, musicians, and producers, we must recognize the importance of featuring foreigners in our projects to achieve success. By including Nigerian and American actors and actresses in our work, we can elevate our industry and reach new heights. While it is important to support local talent, it is equally important to diversify and expand our reach by working with international acts. Embracing diversity and collaboration is key to unlocking the full potential of our industry.” Lilwin told MFK in an exclusive interview.
“Ghanaians won’t even value you if you continue to feature the locals because they’ve seen them so many times on screen.” He added.
Kwadwo Nkansah will release his much-awaited movie, “A Country Called Ghana” on May 5 and 6 2024.
According to him, Millions of Ghana Cedis have already been spent on the film and it’s expected to be on Netflix.
