Panic and fear gripped students and teachers of Galelia M/A 1 Junior High School at Brigade in the Ga South Municipality after the lifeless body of a man was discovered in one of the classrooms on Tuesday morning.
According to information gathered by reporter Nana Ansah, the students arrived at school early in the morning. They noticed a man lying on the floor of one of the classrooms under a mosquito net. Initially assuming he was asleep, they attempted to wake him up but received no response.
Frightened by the situation, the students quickly alerted the headmaster, who, together with some teachers, went to inspect the scene. Upon realising that the man was unresponsive, the school authorities immediately reported the matter to the Amamfrom Police Station.
Police officers later arrived at the school to examine the body and began preliminary investigations into the incident. The identity of the deceased and the cause of death are yet to be established.
The unexpected discovery has left students traumatised, forcing school authorities to suspend classes temporarily as police continue with their investigation.
Residents of the area have expressed shock over the incident and are calling on security agencies to intensify patrols to ensure the safety of the school and its surroundings.
