The Ghana Police Service has arrested a young man, identified as Coffie Agyemang, for allegedly attempting to sell his three-year-old son.
According to reports circulating on social media platform X on January 13, 2026, the suspect, a resident of Kwamang, was apprehended after allegedly offering to sell his child for GH¢1 million.
Preliminary information indicates that Coffie Agyemang had discussed plans to sell the child to an associate, citing financial difficulties as his motivation.
The reports further suggest that police were alerted to the suspected plan and subsequently mounted a covert operation, with officers posing as prospective buyers to confirm the allegations.
The suspect was arrested during the operation and is currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
