The Family of a girl of about three years is seeking for help from the public in order to keep their dying child alive.
The three-year-old girl named Josephine Nyameye has been suffering from retinoblastoma since childhood after her poor mother could not afford medical care for her.
This came to light after Oyerepa TV’s “Help Me Change” team noticed her in the community.
Doctors at the Paediatric Oncology Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital revealed that, before Nyameye was sent to the hospital, all parts of her eye were already affected by the retinoblastoma cancer. The eye had swollen out big.
That was not the only damage the disease had done to her eye, but also it has entered her brain and the bones. The bone marrow responsible for the production of blood in the body has also been affected, doctors said.
They also said it will be difficult for Nyameye to be fully cured of her cancer.
Retinoblastoma
Retinoblastoma is a rare type of cancer that grows on the retina at the back of the eye. It develops in children under age 5.
The family through Oyerepa TV’s Help Me Change are pleading with the general public and loved ones to donate to Josephine Nyameye through the mobile money number below:
