Musician and record producer Buddy RoRo has categorically stated that veteran singer Esther Smith remains Ghana’s greatest gospel musician. Buddy RoRo, who is also the manager of Great Ampong, said there is no way anyone can mention the biggest names in the gospel music ministry and leave out Esther Smith’s name.
“For some time now, many people have conferred on Esther Smith as the greatest of all time in the Ghanaian gospel music ministry,” he told Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast-based Property FM. “So, as for Esther Smith, there is no way you can mention the biggest names in the gospel music industry and leave her name out of the list with facts and figures.
“Esther Smith’s line of music can be compared to Daddy Lumba because the older she gets, the better she becomes, and her songs are sung almost every day,” he stated. He justified, “Esther Smith’s songs won’t leave the system. Though she’s not been releasing lately, her old songs are evergreen, and even a child in the new generation knows Esther Smith and her songs.”
