The Elections Security Task Force has reassured media practitioners of their safety and security ahead of the December 7 general elections.
At a meeting with news editors from various media outlets, Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akufo Dampare, emphasized the critical role media plays in the electoral process.
To ensure media practitioners can carry out their duties without fear, the task force has put in place Seven Key Measures to enhanced Security Presence at media outlets and polling stations
Dr. Dampare urged the media to verify information before publishing, as misinformation can incite violence on election day.
This year’s approach promises more confidence for media practitioners, building on past successes. The task force’s efforts aim to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process.
