In preparation for the upcoming December polls, the Police hierarchy recently held a meeting with the Council of State Members at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
The purpose of the meeting was to update the council on the Ghana Police Service’s readiness for the pre-election and post-election periods.
Following the meeting, Chief Superintendent Grace Ansah-Akrofi (MS.), Director of the Police Public Affairs Directorate, addressed the media. She assured the public that the Ghana Police Service, as the primary security agency for the elections, is fully equipped and prepared to maintain security throughout the electoral process.
Chief Superintendent Ansah-Akrofi emphasized that the Police will work closely with other security agencies as part of the National Election Security Task Force to ensure peace and order before, during, and after the elections.
She expressed confidence that the 2024 general election will be one of the most peaceful ever held under the Fourth Republic.
Referring to the recent successful by-elections in the country, Chief Superintendent Ansah-Akrofi stated that they demonstrate the Ghana Police Service’s readiness for the upcoming task on December 7, 2024.
