Over 1.5 million Persons With Disabilities PWDs have come together to rally behind the NPP flagbearer Dr Bawumia to break the eight.
The PWDs believe if Bawumia wins, it will enable the party to continue its progressive development of the country.
Speaking at a press conference today in Accra, Mr Gilbert Boateng Agyare, the communication officer of the group said they see Dr. Bawumia to be the only driver who can take Ghana to our development destination.
“We are strongly behind Dr Bawumia because of NPP on account of its social intervention programmes that affect persons With Disabilities. Disability legislation, common Found for PWDS, Economic empowerment of PWD’s and bursaries for students with Disabilities in tertiary institutions.”
To him, PWDs have decided to rally behind the Vice President because he is the only presidential candidate who can bring unity among Ghanaians across all religious groups.
Opined that the New Patriotic Party who tickets Dr Bawumia is ridding on has the the record of creating good policies for PWDs.
He added that PWDs who were manning tollbooths before its abolishment have been inculcated into the National Youth Employment Agency scheme, and are now permanently employed.
Mr Prince Debrah, Assembly Member at the Kwadaso Municipality stated that he decided to join the Disability train for Bawumia because NPP has more social intervention policies than any political party in the country.
“I was able to have all my five children without going through any stress all because of Free maternal care introduced by President Kuffour and now my kids are enjoying free education under President Akufo-Addo.”
