The Eric Kofi Amofa Junior (EKAJ) education fund has donated 5000 textbooks to students of senior high schools in Asante Akyim Central in the Ashanti region.
To assist all senior high schools (SHS) within the municipality, including private secondary schools in its operational area, the EKAJ Education Fund has initiated the distribution of books as its first significant endeavor.
The beneficiary senior high schools were Juaso Senior High and Technical School, Banka Community Day Senior High School, Morso Community Senior High School, Dampong Senior High School, Bompata Presbyterian Senior High School, Ofoase Senior High School, Krofa Senior High School, and Oduro Apenteng Senior High School.
Speaking with Oyerepa News, the founder of the EKAJ Foundation, Eric Kofi Amofa Junior, reiterated the need for the donation.
“I cannot forget my bitter experience in secondary school, where my parents could only afford one exercise book for all seven subjects. So, I divided the book by pages for the various subjects, and I remember how I jealously guarded the book from being stolen or missing because that was very crucial for my revisions during exams”.
In addition, he motivated them to prioritize their studies and refrain from engaging in harmful activities such as excessive drinking, smoking, embracing homosexuality, and indulging in other negative influences that could potentially harm their prospects.
The founder of EKAJ Education Fund, however, disclosed his intention to contest for the parliamentary seat of Asante Akyim South on the ticket of the new patriotic party in the 2024 general election.
