Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are reported to be in stable condition following a road accident on the Bolgatanga–Tumu highway.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday as the ministers and their convoy were travelling to the Upper West Region for official duties related to the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

In a statement, the Ministry of Education reassured the public that neither minister sustained life-threatening injuries.
“The Minister and the Deputy Minister are in stable condition following a road traffic accident involving their convoy on the Bolgatanga–Tumu road,” the statement said.
All other officials travelling with the ministers are also safe and have received the necessary medical care.
“All members of the convoy are currently in stable condition and receiving the required medical attention,” the release added.
The Ministry expressed gratitude to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public who provided immediate assistance at the scene.
“The Office appreciates the swift response and concern shown by emergency personnel, medical staff, and members of the public,” it said.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
