ECG rescues man after electrocution incident during Weija Dam Spillage
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has rescued a man who suffered an electrocution incident at Tetegu in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality during the ongoing Weija Dam spillage, which has affected hundreds of residents.
Confirming the incident, the Assemblyman for the Tetegu Electoral Area, Hon. Bright Kwame, disclosed that the victim was electrocuted in his house after floodwaters entered the area.
According to him, the victim survived after a distress call was placed to ECG officials, who quickly cut off power supply to the affected community.
He added that the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), together with the Municipal Assembly, is putting measures in place to address the situation and support affected residents.

Meanwhile, some affected residents have recounted their losses and are calling on the government to find a lasting solution to the perennial flooding that occurs whenever the Weija Dam is spilled.
