The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the exhibition of the provisional voters register, starting from August 20 to September 7, 2024, from 7 am to 6 pm daily.
The exercise, which will take place at all polling stations in the 268 districts nationwide, aims to correct errors and make the voter’s register robust and credible for the 2024 general election.
At a press conference, the Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Corporate Services, Dr Bossman Asare, emphasized that the current voter register is provisional and requires verification to ensure accuracy.
Dr. Bossman urges all registered voters to participate in the exhibition exercise to verify their details and make necessary corrections.
The Commission also clarified that it has provided the provisional register to political parties, as required by law, and that the exercise is not meant for new registrations but rather for corrections and verification.
