Members of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) in the Nkawkaw constituency in the Eastern Region, has held a maiden stakeholders conference to map up strategies towards winning next year’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The conference which was attended by some national and regional executives of the party sort to equip branch, Ward and constituency leadership with strategies that will enable them work hard to win more votes, including how to get more representation in the upcoming district level elections.
Welcoming participants at the conference, constituency chairman for Nkawkaw NDC, Hon. Tamimu Halidu accounted for his stewardship together with his colleague executives in the past one year and pleaded with all party members to keep guiding the steps of the current leadership in order to foster unity and sense of purpose towards their goal in election 2024.
On his part, Deputy National Organizer of the NDC, Hon. Elikem Kotoko told journalists that, even though Ghanaians have regretted voting the NPP back to power in 2020, members of the NDC should not be compliscent of their chances in next year’s elections but use such platforms as a dialogue point to strengthen their efforts towards election 2024.
He further noted that, it has always been a magic for Ghanaians to have three square meals daily, due to the current bad governance of the Akuffo Addo, Bawumia led administration and therefore the need for national and regional executives of the party to whip the base towards the task ahead.
Finally, Parliamentary Candidate on the ticket of the NDC for Nkawkaw, Hon. Dr. Fredrick Somuah Obeng also indicated that, the party needed all hands on desk in unity to achieve the victory they want in 2024 hence, the purpose of the stakeholders conference.
He however took a swipe at the NPP for promising yet another fund to construct the long abandoned Nkawkaw sports stadium and reiterated his commitment to upgrade and complete the project within his first two years of his first term if elected as next MP for Nkawkaw.
