Three contestants and their teaching staff of the Nkawkaw Nsuta M/A ‘B’ basic school, who represented the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly in 8 districts of regional maths and science competition in Koforidua have presented the championship trophy they won to the leaders of the community.
In a short ceremony to present the trophy to the elders of Nkawkaw Nsuta where the school is located, Master Kabiru Abdul who led two other contestants to represent the school recounted how he and his colleagues spent ample time preparing and progressed to the regional finals of the competition.
He further indicated the numerous challenges that hinder teaching and learning activities in the school yet managed to win the ultimate.
Master Kabiru also used the opportunity to thank their teachers for the joint sacrifices that yielded the desired results.
On his part, the assembly member for the Nkawkaw Nsuta electoral area and Benkumhene of Abenase Mampong, Nana Onwona Isaac Kofi also expressed sincere gratitude to the contestants and their teachers for making the community and Municipality proud. H urged them to go higher in all efforts on their academic ladder.
The Odikro of Nkawkaw Nsuta Abenase, Nana Yaw Osei also thanked the students and their teachers for their honours and glory to his community and the Municipality. He however encouraged them to keep the fire of brutal work burning.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Paulina Darko, on the other hand also used the opportunity to appeal to the authorities for relevant educational infrastructures such as an ICT laboratory, library, common staff room, places of convenience and the rapid completion of a KG block to augment teaching and learning in the school.
