The Nkawkaw Central Electoral Area has a new Assembly Member, Mr Kwaku Mensah Arthur, who is taking proactive measures to address the issue of mosquito breeding and the spread of malaria.
In collaboration with the Environmental Health Department of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, Kwaku Mensah Arthur has undertaken the task of disinfecting major drains and market areas within his jurisdiction.
This initiative was prompted by numerous complaints from residents living in the affected areas, who have been greatly troubled by the increasing rate of mosquito bites and the subsequent risk of malaria.
During a conversation with Oyerepa News, Kwaku Mensah Arthur emphasized the importance of this exercise in addressing the concerns of the residents.
He expressed his commitment to expanding the disinfection efforts to other areas within his jurisdiction.
However, he also acknowledged the need for logistical support from stakeholders to ensure the success and sustainability of these initiatives.
