In a bid to improve education in rural areas, the Church of Pentecost and Compassion International have joined forces to provide new teaching and learning furniture to the Adawso-Asuboni Odumase community in the Kwahu South Municipality.
The donation includes 120 dual pupil desks and 10 sets of tutor tables and chairs, aimed at addressing the long-standing issue of broken furniture and inadequate seating.
Previously, students had to sit four or five to a desk or on the floor, hindering their ability to learn effectively. The partnership seeks to eliminate this challenge and provide a conducive learning environment.
Mr. Moses Nutifafa, the School Management Committee chairman, acknowledged the negative impact of the previous broken furniture and commended the donors for their support. He also highlighted other challenges facing the school, including broken classroom floors and walls, and appealed for additional support.
Pastor Samuel Aboagye Osei, the Adawso area pastor for the Church of Pentecost, emphasized the importance of maintenance to ensure the longevity of the furniture.
Miss Edbertha Adzo Azinah, Project Director for Compassion International, also stressed the need for proper maintenance to achieve the full benefits of the donation. The partnership aims to improve the quality of education in the community and enhance the learning experience for students.
