A tragic accident claimed the life of a driver in the early hours of Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Tema Valco Roundabout.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when a car, registered GR-2773-25, veered off the road and collided with a security camera pole.
The impact was so severe that the vehicle was badly mangled, trapping the driver inside.
Firefighters from the Tema Metro Fire Station, led by ADO II Mike Aidoo, rushed to the scene following a distress call from the police.
In a tense 10-minute rescue operation, the firefighters managed to cut through the wreckage, only to discover that the lone occupant had already died.
The body was handed over to police officers and transported to the Tema General Hospital in a police pickup. The wrecked vehicle was cleared and towed to the Community 1 Police Station to prevent further risk to motorists.
The identity of the driver remains unknown, and police have launched investigations to determine both the victim’s details and the cause of the crash.’
