Ghanaian awards organiser and social figure, Dr. Kwame Owusu Fordjour, popularly known as Dr UN, has revealed plans to honour Shatta Wale for his remarkable contribution to the success of Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert held in Kumasi last month.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Oman Ghana TV, Dr UN said he was deeply impressed by Shatta Wale’s outstanding performance, support, and dedication to the music industry, which contributed immensely to the concert’s success.
“I’ll award Shatta Wale for making Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert a success,” Dr UN stated.
“I’m going to organise another awards ceremony in December this year. So as you all know, I’m going to honour a lot of people based on their field of work or life.”
He explained that the upcoming awards event will celebrate excellence across different sectors, including education, local governance, journalism, and entertainment.
“I’ll award performing teachers, MMDCEs, journalists, and musicians,” he said.
“I’ll award musicians like Shatta Wale because he has done massively in the music industry. Again, he did a marvellous job for the success of Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert in Kumasi last month, so I’ll definitely honour him.”
Dr UN further revealed that part of his December event will focus on encouraging emerging artists, adding that young musicians who show promise will also be recognised.
“I’ll also honour upcoming musicians to motivate them to reach the levels of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, and Sarkodie,” he added.
The upcoming Dr UN Global Excellence Awards, expected to take place in December 2025, aims to spotlight individuals making positive impacts in their respective fields while inspiring the next generation of achievers across Ghana and beyond.
