Controversial Ghanaian public figure and awards organiser Dr Kwame Owusu Fordjour, popularly known as Dr UN, has announced plans to honour celebrated rapper Sarkodie again for promoting the image of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, to the global stage.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Oman Ghana TV, Dr UN praised Sarkodie for what he described as a “monumental contribution” to making the Asantehene one of the most globally recognised traditional leaders.
“I’ll honour Sarkodie again for making Asantehene the biggest King across the world. I was looking forward to that move from him, which he eventually did. He has made Asantehene known globally, so I’m going to award him in that order,” Dr UN stated.
He revealed that the recognition will take place during his second major awards event, scheduled for December this year.
According to him, whether Sarkodie attends the event or not, he will still be honoured for his exceptional efforts.
“I don’t really care if he will come or not, I’ll honour him in my second awards event in December,” he emphasised.
