Ghanaian actor and comedian Clement Sarfo, popularly known as Papa Kumasi, has refuted claims that Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi’s London concert was sponsored by external investors. According to him, Dr. Likee single-handedly financed the entire event.

Renowned Ghanaian comedian and actor Dr. Likee made history on May 22, 2026, by headlining and selling out the 2,700-capacity Indigo at The O2. The comedy concert featured several notable personalities from the entertainment industry, including Nana Ama McBrown, Emelia Brobbey, and Akwasi Boadi, among others.

Adding to the excitement, Livingstone Etse Satekla (Stonebwoy) made a surprise appearance and delivered a thrilling performance, making the event even more memorable.

Following the successful show, many social media users questioned how Dr. Likee managed to finance such a large-scale event, with some suggesting that sponsors and investors were behind it. However, Papa Kumasi, who was one of the organizers and a close friend of Dr. Likee, dismissed those claims in an interview.

According to him, Dr. Likee sold his only car to fund the concert.

“Aka Ebenezer had to sell his car. I have said it on so many occasions. Why would he sell his car just for us to organize this big programme? Some people say it’s a joke. If anyone thinks we are lying, they should come out and say they sponsored the programme and we refused to acknowledge them. Someone gives me money to organise a show, and I will still say no one sponsored me? It doesn’t add up,” he said.

Papa Kumasi also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they received from fans and industry personalities.

“We feel so happy because the world has shown us massive love. There were people who were not residing in London but still bought tickets to be part of the programme. Some people even bought tickets for others just so they could attend. All the big personalities we counted on did not turn their backs on us,” he recounted.

Dr. Likee’s concert, titled “Dr Likee Live,” blended live stand-up comedy, traditional concert party theatre, and vibrant musical performances, earning widespread praise and congratulations from the public.
