Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso North in the Ashanti region, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, has stated his biggest worry is the fact that he could not build a tomato factory for his people.
Recall that in 2002, Dr. Kofi konadu Appraku the then Minister of Trade and Industry announced a proposed tomato factory at Akomadan, a partnership between local Ghanaians and Israeli investors which was expected to start production in June 2003.
Speaking on Oyerepa TV’s My signature’ show, the former Minister, said all his effort to build the tomato factory was not materialized.
“I did all my best to do the project so I can relieve people. I even got Israeli company but it couldn’t come off”. Dr Apraku said.
“Eventually, as I was doing this, the government rather decided to rehabilitate Techiman tomato factory.”
He further asserted on the show that there is a whole story surrounding his inability to do the project but have accepted that he could not do it.
“There is a lot of issues surrounding my failure to do the factory but I’ve accepted I couldn’t do it however, I don’t want to talk about it.”
