Rev. Dr. Kwadwo Gyasi has been officially inducted the Ashanti East Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana (AG).

The induction ceremony took place on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, at the Light House Central Assembly in Akwatialine, Kumasi.

During the ceremony, Rev. Alex Adu Gyamfi was also inducted as the Regional Secretary, while Rev. Eric Adjei Amankwa took on the role of Regional Treasurer.

The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed pastors, including the General Superintendent of AG, Dr. Yenusom Wengam. The event was honoured to have Mr. Osei-Mensah Bonsu, the Majority Leader in parliament, as our special guest of honour, alongside other distinguished guests.

Pray for Ghana against terrorism – Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonusu

Addressing the congregants, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonusu disclosed that, terrorists are gradually taking over Africa, citing Burkina Faso, Gabon, Niger and Mali as an instance.

He said, the probability of Ivory Coast becoming the next target is undoubtedly high and that, if it should happen, Ghana probably would also be attacked. For this Christians and for that matter Ghanaians must wake up in prayers in this trying time to save the country from terrorism.

“Fellow Christians, there’s indeed an inciting growth that apart from the economic crunch that we have in Ghana if you know the events that are playing out in Burkina Faso. Today about 70% of Burkina Faso is lost to terrorists, 90% of Mali is lost to terrorists…. Niger, Chad and just three days ago Gabon. The country on the radar is Ivory Coast and if it should happen to La Côte d’Ivoire, God save Ghana. That’s why we must be very prayerful.”

Stay away from bribery and corruption – Dr. Yenusom Wengam

Dr. Yenusom Wengam, on the other hand, urged Ghanaians to refrain from engaging in unholy acts such as bribery and corruption, even in the face of economic hardship within the country.

He emphasized that these detrimental practices have the potential to invoke divine retribution upon the nation.

“In these difficult times, we should not deviate from our faith in God. Let’s stay away from bribery and corruption as well as things that will make us unholy. Because your unholy decisions will bring God’s wrath on the community in which you live and you’ll lose everything. He said.

“Therefore, I’ll plead with Ghanaians not to cut corners because of the severe hardship we’re facing. Let’s stay away from bribery and corruption because these bad behaviours eventually end in disgrace.” The AG General Superintendent said.

Dr Gyasi: We’ll strengthen the weaker churches

Dr. Gyasi, the newly appointed Ashanti East Regional Superintendent of AG, also made a solemn commitment to enhance the growth of the Assemblies of God and prioritize the well-being of its members.

During his tenure, Dr. Gyasi, along with his dedicated team, will diligently work towards fulfilling the Church’s mission of providing financial support to widows and retirees. This initiative aims to alleviate their financial burdens and ensure their overall welfare.

Furthermore, the team will actively establish multiple AG branches in diverse communities across the country. This strategic expansion will enable the Church to reach and serve a wider audience, fostering a stronger sense of community and spiritual growth.

“We’ll strengthen the weaker churches. We’ll also help the local pastors financially. We’ll also help widowers and widows in AG. We’ve even started doing it. We give them some amount of money every month. Also the retirees, the church has decided to support them every quarterly.”

“In Ashanti East where there are no churches, in our tenure of office we’ve decided to open more branches in those communities.” He declared.
