Ghanaian music duo, DopeNation, has fired back at their former label mate, Kuami Eugene, following his recent scathing remarks about them.
The tension between the ex-Lynx Entertainment signees escalated after DopeNation took to social media with a cheeky post aimed at Kuami Eugene. Their message followed an interview on Hitz FM, where Lynx Entertainment CEO Richie Mensah confirmed the Angela hitmaker’s departure from the label.
In their post, DopeNation sarcastically wished Kuami Eugene luck in overcoming the so-called “Lynx curse”—a fan theory suggesting that artists who leave the label struggle to maintain their relevance and produce hit songs in the Ghanaian music industry.
Their remarks were also a response to Kuami Eugene’s earlier controversial comments, where he admitted feeling relieved after DopeNation left Lynx Entertainment in 2020.
DopeNation Responds
Taking to their X (formerly Twitter) page, DopeNation fired shots at Kuami Eugene, humorously suggesting that his recent large Afro was a wig and that he should take it off.
The twin duo challenged him to a musical showdown, urging him to see who could release the best song over the weekend.
In a sharp warning, DopeNation also cautioned Kuami Eugene against allegedly stealing another musician’s song to compete with them—an accusation that has frequently surfaced throughout his career.
As fake as that wig you dey wear.
Do us all a favour and take it off.
We will soon know who drops a classic this weekend. Game on !Ps: Dont go and steal someone’s song@KuamiEugene
