Rev. Fr. Dominic Kwame Adjei, the priest in-charge for Weija rectorate has called on employers to prioritize building good relationships with their employees by paying their salaries on time.
Speaking during his Welcome mass at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at Weija, Fr. Adjei advised employers against withholding employees’ salaries to invest in businesses or buy Treasury Bills, noting that such actions constitute cheating and can damage relationships.
He emphasized the importance of using one’s position or resources to nurture relationships with others, rather than exploiting them. “Employees expect their salaries at the end of the month, and refusing them of what’s rightfully theirs is cheating and it doesn’t bring a good relationship,” he said.
The cleric also highlighted the need for individuals to be mindful of their actions and prioritize what’s rightfully theirs, promoting integrity and fairness in all interactions. Rev. Fr. Adjei’s message is a call to action for employers to prioritize their employees’ welfare and build trust with them through timely payment of salaries.
