As part of the recently launched ‘You see something you say something’ campaign by the National Security, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu Municipality (MCE) Samuel Oduro Frimpong has cautioned Landlords in the Ejisu Municipality to be careful with the kind of people they rent their rooms to.
According to the MCE, the current influx of foreign nationals in the municipality has become a great worry and has necessitated caution.
Speaking on the Oyerepa breakfast show hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, the Head of the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) called on all Landlords to help intensify the security in the country by probing people extensively before renting out to them.
“Every now and then, we pick signals of foreign nationals from the neighbouring countries trooping into the country and hiding in homes in the Ejisu Municipality. The issue now is the Landlords who rent out to them at higher rates. It is imperative that these Landlords think about the security of the entire nation and not that of their personal gains before they accommodate these people whose identities are not known and that of their mission in the country”. He stated
Forty-Eight suspected illegal migrants have been arrested in the Ejisu municipality within a week
