A psychiatrist and a medical doctor at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, KATH, Dr Adwoa Peprah Amo Mensah has advised the general public not to entertain individuals with mental disorders as they can be harmful to everyone at home and the community at large.
According to her, people who show signs of mental disorders should not be taken to prayer camps or shrines for treatment, rather they should be taken to the psychiatric hospital immediately they show those signs.
“Don’t keep people that show signs and symptoms of mental disorders in the house. Send them to the hospital. Don’t wait for them to harm you, they can kill you. Stop taking them to shrines and prayer camps because it will worsen their problem. Report suspicious activities when noticed.” Dr Amo Peprah made this assertion on Oyerepa Breakfast Time hosted by Akua Asieduwaa
