Rev. Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has sternly criticised Empress Gifty following her public display of support for NDC’s John Dramani Mahama after the 2024 election results.
Empress Gifty has recently been seen celebrating the NDC’s resounding victory on social media, clad in the party’s colours and joining in the festivities.
The gospel musician reflected on the challenging experiences she and her husband faced under the previous government, expressing her excitement over the NDC’s win.
Empress Gifty, whose husband was a former Deputy National Security Coordinator under the NPP administration, shared how his support for Alan Kyerematen led to his sacking from both his position and the party.
However, Nana Agradaa has slammed Empress Gifty, accusing her of insincerity and pretending to love Mahama after years of disrespecting him at a time when she and her husband were aligned with the NPP.
In an angry response, Agradaa said, “Now that JM has won, you’re sitting on the internet with your unkempt hair talking nonsense. You and your husband disrespected and embarrassed him for years. It’s not now, after he has won, that you want to pretend like you’ve always supported him. Look at what you guys said about him just a few years ago.”
Agradaa further criticised Empress Gifty’s sudden affection for the NDC and Mahama, calling it “disgusting.”
“If you and your husband want to find solace in the NDC after the NPP showed you ‘pepper,’ that’s fine. But don’t act like you love John Mahama more than anyone else. JM has won, he’ll be here for four years. But if not for how you treated him and the things you said, he could have already served eight years by now.
“Your husband’s bad attitude towards the government even landed him in prison. Now, because you’re hurt, you’re running away from your original party and mentioning JM’s name. If you’ve been sacked from your party and you want to seek solace with JM’s camp, you better stay quiet and stay there.”
Agradaa also pointed out that Empress Gifty, despite her recent show of support, doesn’t truly belong in the circle of people who genuinely love Mahama or are loyal to the NDC.
She added, “When our businesses were being collapsed for JM’s sake, where were you? You were mocking us back then. When we talk about people who truly love Mahama, some of you should stay quiet. It’s not now, when he’s won, that you’re acting all emotional as if you love him more than anyone else.”
