Delay threatens legal action against X user over childlessness mockery
Ghanaian media personality and businesswoman Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has sparked intense reactions online after responding fiercely to a social media user who mocked her over not having children.
The controversy erupted on X after a user identified as Bello, with the handle @Societyhate666, reacted to a post about long-awaited achievements expected to happen in 2026. In his comment, the user appeared to take a swipe at Delay’s personal life by writing, “Two long barren runs come to an end in 2026, but Delay is yet to give birth.”
The remark quickly triggered backlash from many social media users, who described the statement as offensive and insensitive, especially considering the private nature of issues surrounding childbirth and fertility.
Delay, known for her fearless personality and blunt responses to critics, wasted no time in addressing the comment publicly. Sharing a screenshot of the post, she responded with a stern warning that immediately grabbed attention online.
“Keep the same energy when the cops come knocking!!!!” she wrote.
Her response instantly generated debate across social media platforms, with many supporters praising her for standing up against online bullying and disrespectful commentary targeted at women.
Others also questioned whether the troll could face legal consequences over the post, especially as conversations around cyberbullying and online harassment continue to grow in Ghana.
The incident has once again sparked discussions about the pressure society places on women regarding marriage, childbirth, and family life. Several users argued that celebrities and public figures should not be subjected to ridicule over deeply personal matters, while others called for greater responsibility and respect on social media.
Delay has often faced public scrutiny over her relationship status and motherhood, but she has consistently maintained her confidence and independence despite criticism from online trolls.
